Corwin Somerset serves as the Director of Housing and Education at the Shenango Valley Urban League in Farrell, Pennsylvania. She began her career in community service as the Program Coordinator for the Chavers Community Center After School Program at the Shenango Valley YMCA, where she developed a strong foundation in youth development and community engagement.

In 2017, Corwin joined the Shenango Valley Urban League as Education Director, where she expanded educational programming and community initiatives. In 2022, she was promoted to her current dual role overseeing both housing and education programs. In this position, she coordinates key initiatives including the Annual MLK Breakfast and the Summer Youth Apprenticeship Program (SYAP), which prepares young people for future educational and career opportunities.

Corwin also leads programs that strengthen digital literacy in Mercer County and oversees the National Urban League Incentives to Excel & Succeed (NULITES) youth program, which promotes leadership development through community service.

In 2021, Corwin became a HUD Certified Counselor, enabling her to provide pre- and post-home purchase counseling as well as rental guidance to residents throughout Mercer County.
